San Jose’s new contemporary gallery, the Axis Art Gallery was founded and is curated by award-winning San Jose fine art photographer, Deborah Mills Thackrey, with the goal of showcasing some of the fantastic work of Bay Area artists.

Associate Gallery Director, Carolyn Nickell, is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University and has worked as an intern at 461 Gallery, and the Catherine Clark Gallery in San Francisco, and at Villa Montalvo's arts program. She will be doing a residency in Istanbul in the Fall.

The mission of the Axis Art Gallery is to take the next step of development for art in Silicon Valley. We intend to provide a venue to showcase the best of local and regional contemporary artists. We want to provide a conduit for art collectors and anyone who wants fine, original art in their homes. By purchasing original art, you can contribute to the cultural health and diversity in our area.

We intend to prove you don't have to go to San Francisco, New York or LA to discover both established names and emerging talent.
